This is the main home of the MagiWarriors. These MagiKnights are given the
name "Warriors" because their focus in all their training is on battle,
weapons, and defense. MagiWarriors study fighting and war as an art. They perfect
themselves at it. Tactics and strategy are key.
North of the Keep and Courtyard, the Barracks covers the alrgest area of the
plateau of the three Magi divisions. A rough obstacle course, the weapon building,
barracks and stables are kept here. Each building is large and made half with
brick and half with wood. The barracks can hold 50 apprentices in training,
while the barracks near the plateau portcullis can hold up to 200, with two
knights to a room.
The stable, one main building for the whole plateau, is huge and holds up
to 100 horses at any given time. Another, larger and more complete structure
can be found at the base of the plateau road. There as well a small barracks
of 50 warriors can be found too.
Matherin and Eangelle. These two sisters, both
born and raised among a tribe of amazon Gondals, are by far the fiercest of
the Magi Warriors. They both tower over 6 feet in height, and their arms are
as thick as the average human male's. They wear their hair pulled back, with
all the hair at the level of their ears and below shaved. The tail remains of
their hair is left in a long braid, reaching past their waists. Constantly together
astride their magnificent beasts, when they are not sweeping the land in pursuit
of some fiend, they reside at the Keep and train the horses and the Knights
in how to ride them. Their war-steeds, trained from birth to ride under one
master alone, are among the best in manner of all the horses in the surrounding
areas. The necessary training is time consuming, and the girls often simply
tell a knight to do something, and then leave him with months to perfect the
doing of that task. Their training methods seem to be working.
Rishtar. Disowned from his tribe of Gondals, Rishtar
spent more than ten years as a mercenary in a pithy lord's army. His last lord,
disgusted with his refusal to slay a family in their sleep, earned him a bad
reputation and he found himself unable to find work elsewhere. When he was offered
the Keep's hospitality and training, his burning intelligence and drive for
battle worked together to mould him into the perfect Magi Warrior. When the
sisters are not at the Keep, Rishtar usually is, and he takes over the training
of the horses then. A note: Rishtar and the two sisters, Matherin and
Eangelle, were raised from differing tribes of the Gondals. Their tribal loyalties
have made them uneasy companions. The three are always quick to fight, while
their similar traits at the same time create a strange attraction. This three
some is always a source of trouble and never sent out all together on an assignment.
Dram Bellkor. A gruff and graying man, his roguish
ways got him into troubles left and right during his youth. Those days did more
training for him than any other could possibly accomplish. His amazing knack
for getting out of the canniest circumstances with nary a scratch has given
him the reputation of having nine lives, like a cat. In fact, his nickname Cat
is due both to his golden eyes and his luck. A man to trust in a tricky situation,
he is small on talk and long on the ear, always knowing what is going on around
him sooner than one would think possible. His new pasttime, playing tricks on
the apprentice Knights, brings everyone living at the Keep amusement.
Brock Garen. Brock is the son of a nobleman far
distant from the local city of Vhelmar. While at court training to be a knight
of the realm his father's lands belonged to, his family was savagely murdered
and his lands taken by another noble of the court. Too young to do anything,
and unwilling to humble himself before the entire courte, he finished his training
and left to make his own name. His driving goal is to teach the boys wishing
to be students of chivalry at their homes, so they do not leave their families
unprotected during the training. His dashing ways and chivalrous manners have
left behind a score of daughters and ladies, hearbroken at his leave takeing.
Brant Loreth. Brant Loreth served in the army
of Vhelmar's king for some time, before he was savagely attacked by his own
men and betrayed by his king. Rumor had it that he had been the queen's lover,
and without a thought the king meant to finish him off. Barely escaping Vhelmar
with his life, the gruff ex-soldier became a mercenary for hire, until he grew
tired ofthe bloodshed. He then became a lone ranger tracking thru the Ethrin
Woods. He continues his pursuits there mostly, his main occupation saving the
merchants and travelers foolish enough to try to go thru the forest instead
of around it.
