Within the main Keep itself, the rooms of the MagiKnights who have devoted
their lives to study and teaching others can be found. Philosophies, arts and
sciences are all studied. The focus is a choice left to the individual apprentice.
Book learning is an essential part of the training of every apprentice, no matter
which title they take upon speaking their oath: warrior, healer or teacher.
The search for truth is the goal of the greatest of the MagiTeachers, as they
carry on one of the three tenets of MagiKnight training. Living within the Keep, they have large rooms, each
capable of holding three apprentice rooms.
Guile Debernai. Eldest son of a well to do merchant
family, his leaning towards books instead of to trade earned him the loss of
his family. They refuse to recognize him as kin to them, and the strain drove
him to seek the priests of the local religion. While studying to become a priest,
he grew to learn and enjoy teaching what he learned. Still following his priestly
vows, Guile does his best to convert those who stay at the keep to some semblance
of religion, much to the amusement of all.
Grisham Hamil. A warrior by trade, his interest
in books grew by leaps and bounds when he joined the Magi. When Sora got a hold
of him, she quickly encouraged his interest in learning. Since that early time,
they have been nearly inseparable, traveling together always.
Sora Khellthri. A local woman who spent her days
as a midwife and ranger of her small hamlet, Sora grew well into her middle
age. The lines of her face created by the sun and her wandering ways only add
to her strong look and steadfast calmness. After meeting Grisham, she began
to open up somewhat to the other Magi, her long suppressed friendliness quickly
coming out after the years of deprivation. Now she happily travels rounds between
the local towns and hamlets with Grisham nine months of the year, before they
return to the Keep.
Bri Cress Songtide. The middle daughter of a seafaring
fisher-clan, she grew up amid the common sailors. Her father, the chieftan of
her sea-side village, expected to pawn her in a marriage. But, dissatisfied
with her life, she skipped town on the back of a merchant wagon. Still remarkably
innocent, she arrived at the Inn some months later, having spun tales and gypsy
dances for her food and keep with the merchant during her travels. Now she wanders
the halls, cheering the older Knights with her fresh innocence and common talk,
while her upbringing as a lady gives her a gentle kind-heartedness for those
of her new "clan".
Antonius Mac'Eernay. This bookworm scholar, born
in the city of Vhelmar, spent most of his days and nights in the immense libraries
of the noble houses. His ramblings, amusing to the ton, had allowed him
such access. When his familie's wealth came into doubt, he found himself not
allowed access to the books, and in bewilderment he was sent on a wild goose
chase for a fabled library off in the wild north woods. While traveling, Dark
Ramoth came upon him. After enticing him with tales of her immense libraries,
he joined her at the Keep and quickly took up study again. His photographic
memory aids him in any search another Magi may ask of him.
